Mosaik Series [only covers so far]

Post by scarface »

With this thread I want to share a new universe of east german comic book series which have a long history. In the 60ies east german comic book author Hannes Hegen created a series called "Die Digedags" These three young boys travel through time, take part of historical events and meet famous personalities from the past. The issues were released monthly until the mid 70ies. The Digedags were replaced with three new characters called "Die Abrafaxe" this series runs until today. The time travel stories continued to be the main aspect of the illustrations. A few years ago a new series was created featuring 3 girls which runs parallel to "Die Abrafaxe". They are called "Anna, Bella and Caramella".

Finding scans of those is actually very hard, because most of them are really old. On some forums there are threads, but nearly all links are dead as for now. I read a lot of summaries and there is tons of DID, CID and even GID. To my knowlegde the Digedags do not have that many damsels, but the amount of female characters who assist the Abrafaxe in their adventures is significally higher than the amount in the older stories. Due to the fact that most download links are down, all I can offer right now are some covers. I know from the summaries that there is plenty more and I always have my eyes open for new forums and sites who offer scans of these stories. They are pretty good by the way, so any german speaking fan should check them out beyond the DID aspect. Anyway here ist what I found so far.

Abrafaxe

This woman blows my mind :P . What a beauty. Her name is Thusnelda, by the way.

Anna, Bella, Caramella

Caged scenes are not my cup of tea, but it is a DID situation nevertheless. Due to the summarie there is even a chance of a tie up
Image
My personal highlight and my current number one priority. The issue currently only costs 3€ on their website. I think about ordering if it stays impossible to find. The cover art is a little weird on this one. The quality is better in the books itself in my opinion.

Anyway I hope I can extend this thread in the future and I hope for some response. :)

Age is not an issue, all the older are available :

Problems seems to be with the cover you show: they re-started in the late 2000s, and those are hard to get.

Oh wow, I remember seeing some scenes from this series from WAAAAAAY back in the day! Back in the late 90's or early 2000's, I once ran across a DiD website that had scans of some scenes from Mosaik. Does anyone else remember that site? I'm sure that site is long gone now and I have no recollection of the name of it. I seem to recall it had a black background with green font and there was a focus on foreign DiD scenes, but that's about all I remember. Unfortunately I either lost the scans I saved at some point or never saved them before the site disappeared.

I think the Sibylla scene where she's gagged and thrown in the water with the crocodile was on that site, because those images looked very familiar to me. Also, the one with the girl in the purple dress OTN gagged with a green cloth kinda looked familiar. That might have been on there too and now I'm trying to recall if there were other images to that scene as well. Also, I think the interiors that go with the scene depicted on the first cover scan "In Grosser Gefahr" might have been on that site too. The girl looks familiar but I don't remember if a gag was involved at some point or just a tie-up on that one.

Those gag scenes you found already are excellent cicisaur! I particularly love the first one with the girl who has the green OTN gag (Fatima is her name I think) and the one with Sibylla OTN gagged and tied on a table about to be sacrificed. All are great though and Sibylla is a wonderful and sexy damsel! :D

This series certainly seems to have a ton of promise for more DiD scenes, so I'll do what I can to help find more. Hopefully it turns out to be a goldmine of DiD!

Wow flashback and recalling how an old email would fill fast with mails from c3c back in the day. Helped me find some comics and got into old titles.

Good to know that there are also scans from the abrafaxe. I bet there are a lot of scenes which are not even mentioned in the sunmaries. For the gid lovers this is a goldmine for sure, too. I think we should try the old trick with different languages. To my knowlegde all german sources are offline right now.

I wouldn't bet so much on foreign sources.
From what I know, only the old versions were translated in other languages : dutch, hungarian, and finnish.
But this only until 1989.
What happened after was only issued in Germany.

So the comic seems to be available on Microsoft app website, but issue 411 is wrongly classified as "game"

Next issue is also available there

Great find! That redhead's a real cutie and it's a lovely gag for her. Hope there's more to her scene too!

Issue #368 should be another one that definitely has a female gag scene. I've found summaries that confirm this. A black-haired damsel named Gwendolyn is supposed to be bound and gagged in that one and rescued from a burning building by the Abrafaxe and another guy just in the nick of time.
