Here is a quick one I made, I think I am getting the hang of this! I still have to improve on the outlines though.

Zeta Gundam's Haman, who is probably best known as the queen of the /m/ board of 4chan. :lol:

Pretty rudimentary but it's not too bad.

Obviously done with paint. I tried to download a better program but my computer got bombarded with spam as a result.

Suggestion from a long time Paint user (all my drawings are done with that): Before manipulating the pic. enlarge it as much as you can (depend on which version of paint you have max can be 500% or 400%). Then, once manipulated, reduce it of 25% (if you have enlarged of 400%) or 20% (if you have enlarged of 500%). The borders will automatically blend.
Be careful to not twist or rotate the image before reducing, or the blend will not happen. If you can't avoid it, save it first in .png or .bmp, NOT .jpg or .JPEG!, close and then reopen it.
You can even get help from this thing if the result does not satisfy you: http://apps.pixlr.com/editor/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Anyway I suggest you to install Adblock to stop the spam: https://adblockplus.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Whether it be a manipulation or a drawing I always find tape gags to be quite difficult to depict if only due to shading and/or lighting of folds or whatever. Granted, if the intended pic eschews complex lighting then such details become unnecessary at least; but yeah, blending the manip'd gag into the style of the pic can be tricky at times. The aforementioned method Hypercat-Z brought up is a good place to start though.

Great manips so far! :)

Thanks for the tips, fellas!

Here is one of my first manips featuring a little photo story I made a long time ago. As you can see the feathers posed a real challenge, in that I wanted to focus on the damsel and not on the plumage she had on. The impatience at trimming it is obvious. It looks awkward and definitely rough on the edges. Sometimes I think tape gags are easier because you don't need a lot of space for them. What I did was simply cut the tape from an actual tape gag scene and resized it to fit the damsel in the image.

/a/ is complaining that nobody is drawing Rin correctly, what do the westerners think?

Image

Decided to use the pinch tool on the cheek end of the gag for experimental reasons/move it away from the face shadow.

Anyone have any anime girls they are willing to give as test subjects? :lol: Must be no younger than 15.

I like her design in Prism Ilya the best, but all Rins are fine with me.

Here is one of Mirai from Gundam Build Fighters Try. Decided to use the blur tool before and after resizing.
