Well here is rather small thread, but with an interesting topic "mistaken identity", referring to those few but memorable times when the bad guys wanted to kidnap a certain damsel but instead kidnapped another one either by mistake, because the resemblance or even deliberately.

instead of

instead of

instead of
Maria-sama ga Miteru_OVA 3 (identical twins)
instead of
Oh Family TV 17 (school collegues)
instead of
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles_TV 29 (deliberately by Shredder)
instead of
The New Scooby-Doo Movies_TV 7 (had the same outfit)
instead of
Totally Spies!_TV 12 (had the same outfit to fool the robbers...)
instead of
Totally Spies!_TV 46 (the doc was just an idiot who needed glasses, he only saw colors pink=red)
instead of

the girl in Maitchingu Machiko-s looks like Daphne from scooby doo where are you
Re: Mistaken Identity
Yeah I noticed. What a coincidence to wear the same clothes as Daphne Blake only one time in the whole series, and this can get you kidnapped, tied up and gagged.
Re: Mistaken Identity
very nice scenes, I've never seen the totally spies one with the belly-dancer-esque look

I never noticed that until now, but you guys are right! She does look kinda like Daphne in that outfit, and it is a strange coincidence that her one kidnap scene comes in those clothes...
I think this anime was made in the 70's if I remember right, and Scooby was already around since 1969, so it's not impossible that some Daphne fans were working on this show.
This is a nice theme by the way. What's great about these type of scenes is that the kidnappers' mistake is our gain.
