Galtar and the Golden Lance (all DiD scenes) :)

Post by somedude37 »

And now for an old and vastly underappreciated cartoon that is near and dear to my heart: Hanna-Barbera's 1985 animated foray into medieval fantasy mixed with a tad of sci-fi, the short-lived but very awesome classic, Galtar and the Golden Lance. Why this cartoon couldn't last more than 21 episodes in the mid 1980's is beyond me. Too much He-Man overshadowing it maybe. I'm equally baffled as to why this still hasn't been released on dvd either. You would think now that Warner Bros. has their MOD program going they could open up the vault and turn this puppy loose already! This show had everything that young boys could possibly want in an action-adventure cartoon: a manly hero with a cool name and an awesome-looking weapon, a great fantasy world, tons of gross monsters and weird creatures, great villains, comic relief characters, and most importantly, a hot redhead chick who'd get into DiD scrapes now and then! :D *(Actually, there was also another hot chick besides Goleeta named Rava, Tormack's niece, who you'll see in the caps below if you don't remember her already). ;)

I have such good memories of watching this show as a kid and just loving everything about it, most especially Princess Goleeta (a.k.a. "Medieval Fantasy Daphne"). I never got to see all the episodes back then but the ones I saw really stayed with me, most notably the "Mursa the Merciless" ep with the classic bagging & tie-up scene of "Goleeta" that most everyone seems to recall as the signature DiD moment of this show. :) I'm sure it went right over my head back then that it wasn't actually Goleeta in that scene but really Mursa the witch disguised as Goleeta after stealing her youth & beautty. I'll bet I could have cared less then too. :P All I knew then was it looked like Goleeta, who was so beautiful and looked something like my other great crush, Daphne Blake, and I really liked seeing her get tied up in that sack. In fact, I LIKED IT A LOT. :) Not as much as if she'd just been tied up and had "one of those cloth thingies" put over her mouth instead of the sack, but still there was much about it that was so appealing. The way she struggled and mumbled inside the sack. :rolls: The way she kept kicking her legs out frantically as those two ugly little dwarves (Rak and Tuk by name) worked to bind the ropes around her so she couldn't get out of the bag, no matter how hard she struggled. :rolls: Even at that tender age, there was an undeniable attraction for me in seeing a pretty girl tied up, mumbling, and desperately flailing around on the ground like that. >:D It wasn't the first DiD scene to have an effect on me, and it certainly wouldn't be the last, but I think it definitely contributed to the formation of my love for DiD and making me the pervert I am today.

Well fast-forwarding to now, I decided to investigate this series for myself once and for all and see just what else was in it for DiD. I knew in advance of some other tie-up scenes for Goleeta from caps on the net and I assumed that this show was probably a pretty well-known quantity by now, with basically no chance of finding any undiscovered full-treatment scenes (and there aren't any except for 1 GiD, so sorry guys :(). Nevertheless, I wanted to see if there were any hand-gags and such, and it did not disappoint me at all in that regard, as I came away with 3 new ones from this series. :D But I also found many other DiD scenes for Goleeta, Rava, and others, and I just had to do the collage thing again. So without further ado, here are 7 more cap collages for your viewing pleasure, chronicling all the worthwhile DiD stuff I could find in this series. Click away and enjoy! :D

Collage 1

Ep 2 "Skull Forest" - Goleeta is locked up behind iron bars in a cave by double-crossing dwarf Rak
Ep 3 "Mursa the Merciless - Goleeta is locked up behind wooden bars by dwarf Tuk and forced to take an elevator ride up to meet Mursa the witch. Mursa uses her smokey magic to possess Goleeta and steal away her youth and beauty, leaving her temporarily an old hag. Later, Mursa the Merciless in the appearance of Goleeta is mistakenly sack-captured and tied by Rak and Tuk, who think she is Goleeta. She is tied to their little dragon-like creature and dragged away, with a carpet wrapped and tied around the sack. In Tormack's lair, they unwrap their fine catch, only for Tormack to find out that they screwed up and didn't really get Goleeta.

Collage 2

Ep 6 "Tormack's Trap" - Tormack's niece, Rava, is tied and suspended over a pit where a hungry scorpion monster waits to gobble her up. Goleeta is later imprisoned in a wooden cage.
Ep 7 "Wicked Alliance" - Goleeta is frozen by a magic spell.
Ep 9 "The Manta Marauders" - Goleeta is captured by an alien-like people and bound with some magic energy rings around her that shock her if she tries to break out of them. She's then grabbed by some green gloopy blob thing and thrown onto the floor, where she falls through a trap door and into a prison cell.

Collage 3

Ep 10 "The Master Fighters" - Tormack's soldiers ambush Goleeta & co. in a canyon. Goleeta is grabbed and hand-gagged by one of them, then two of them team up to grab and carry her off into Tormack's stagecoach. When Galtar and Zorn got to Tormack's castle to rescue her, she is trapped inside a suspended cage. *This episode made me want to scream because Goleeta's stupid little brother, Zorn, actually gets bound and gagged in it instead of Goleeta. Why oh why couldn't they have done it the other way around? ;_;
Ep 11 "The Maze of Magus" - Goleeta is captured and imprisoned by Magus in glass container device with large spikes protruding from its inner walls. Later she's transferred to an iron cage where she's menaced by Magus's centaur. Finally Magus takes Goleeta around with her hands tied behind her back, but we can never see the ropes.

Collage 4

Ep 12 "Falca - Priestess of Prey" - A bird-woman villainess named Falca has Goleeta tied to a kite-like apparatus in the form of a pair of wings. Her insect monster pet fastens down Goleeta's free wrist with a shot of sticky goop.
Ep 14 "Zorn meets Marin" - A wild-girl named Marin is caught, carried, and hand-gagged two separate times by a big ogre-thing.
Ep 15 "Vikor's Revenge" - Goleeta is caught and post-tied by Vikor and his barbarians and nearly burned at the stake.

Collage 5

Ep 16 "Galtar's Challenge" - Goleeta is grabbed around the ankles by one of Tormack's soldiers who is hidden under the sand. He rises up and grabs Goleeta before throwing her to the ground.
Ep 17 "Ither's Apprentice" - Goleeta is hit by a shot of goo from a huge goopy monster that knocks her off her horse and sticks her to the ground briefly.
Ep 18 "Antara the Terrible" - A female wizard named Antara traps Goleeta and co. with a magic energy ring. She is subsequently shackled to a wall in a dungeon, arms-over-head style. *Anybody else notice where Tuk is reaching/pointing? Well who can really blame him? ;)

Collage 6

Ep 19 "Tormack's Treachery" - Goleeta is grabbed by a stone giant. Later she and the others are caught by a cyclops monster and locked in a cage as he takes them to his igloo lair. While his prisoner, her wrists are kept shackled and chained together.
Ep 20 "Love of Evil" - Tormack's niece, Rava, ingests a drugged drink/love potion and falls asleep. Goleeta goes to the monster village where she has been taken as their leader's new bride to try and rescue her. She hand-gags Rava to keep her from warning anyone. Rava resists and Goleeta grabs her, then Rava grabs Goleeta. Rak and Tak grab Rava but she breaks free. Finally a shot of goo from one of the monsters knocks her off her feet and into the basket, and Goleeta & the dwarves carry her away.

Collage 7

Ep 21 "The Return of Rava" - At the end of the episode, Goleeta rips a tapestry off a wall to use on Rava, who charges her causing the tapestry to fall over both of them. They have a good catfight inside the tapestry. Goleeta wins and leaves Rava bound and struggling helplessly on the floor inside the tapestry. At the very end, we see Rava with wrists chained and shackled to a dungeon wall.
Intro/Opening sequence - The lock-up scene of Goleeta & Galtar from the show's opening, recreating the same scene from ep 2. Should have done this the very first thing but forgot until the end. :P

*There's a discrepancy as to which of the last two eps is which number. The ep guide here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galtar_and ... isode_list" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) says "Love of Evil" is ep 21 and "The Return of Rava" is #20, but in the torrent I got these from those two were reversed. It seems like based on the plots, "The Return of Rava" makes more sense as the last ep, so I'm going to assume for now that is a mistake on the wikipedia ep listing.

Oh, and here are some bonus non-DiD shots that I thought you might enjoy:

First we have a nice little collage of rare panty-shots of Goleeta from ep 16, "Galtar's Challenge," just after the soldier who was grabbing her throws her to the ground. :D

And then we have, from ep 20 "Love of Evil," some hot girl-on-hot girl boobie wiping/rubbing action! :D

Not kidding! See for yourself:

Well Goleeta herself was never really sacked as I mentioned above. That's really Mursa the Merciless, an ugly old witch who uses her evil magic to copy Goleeta's appearance. Rak and Tuk, the little dwarves, are supposed to be helping Mursa and they think they're capturing Goleeta in that scene, but they're not. They're actually screwing up and capturing Mursa. So yeah it kinda takes some of the enjoyment out of it when you know it's supposed to be an ugly old crone in that sack instead of Goleeta, but I just try to put myself back in my kid mindset and pretend that it's her. :)

The caps where Mursa-as-Goleeta is wrapped up with a rug around the sack are just a continuation of the scene that comes later in the same episode. The only other sack scene is with Rava, which comes in one of the last episodes right after a catfight between her and Goleeta that takes place under a tapestry. >:D Goleeta won the fight and tied Rava up in the tapestry, leaving her struggling on the floor. Unfortunately I don't think she mumbles at all which is a damn shame. :( Her body looks nice squirming around in the sack though. :)

Yeah, it is kinda impossible with Goleeta to not draw the comparison to Daphne. Same hair color, same main color for clothing, similar faces, etc. Goleeta has little darker skin tone but that's the only major difference. I think this had to be very deliberate on Hanna-Barbera's part. They knew that Daphne was a very popular character and any character who looked like her at all could only help to boost ratings. Besides, I think Iwao Takamoto was involved with the character designs for this show like so many other HB toons he worked on, and he is the man who created Daphne Blake, so it's no coincidence they look similar. ;)
