I found two cage scene in the original my little pony carton (I hope these count as did moment)
Danny and Surprise (The original pony that pinkie pie is based are taking ariel photos of ponyland when they get kidnapped by the Gizmonks (monkey like creatures planning on ransoming them for the Rainbow of light. They trapped them in a cage and spent most of the episode like that before they annoy their kidnappers by ruining they inventions(simlar to how Rarity deal with the diamond dogs)

There another scene in the end of the golden horseshoes part 1Megan and the ponies are trying to find the golden horseshoes to help their friend mimic whose ill and a descendant of the of a unicorn. At the end of part 1 Megan spike and ponies go to place called goblin tunnels where they greet by three goblins with a bug and the a net at 10.16 mins
In part two the goblins can read minds so they able to capture the ponies and megan easily and trapped them in a cage due to them reading their minds thanks to the horseshoe they get put in a cage at 13.50 in and are rescued by Wind Whistler and Paradise who avoid captured
