Bit of context for those who never played and/or have forgotten. The cluefinders were a series of educational comptuter games in which four kid detectives solve problems by series of learning puzzles.
In this particular case, two of the cluefinders are taken captive by sentient plant beings, and , in the process of rescuing them, the other two are seized from behind by vines and gassed

Later on, the cluefinders strike a bargin with the plants' leader to solve their problem. However they have to leave the second girl of their group as a hostage, and there's a brief shot of her restrained by vines
