Wonderful, just fucking wonderfulghostz wrote: March 7th, 2025, 7:29 pm also that facebook channel turned out to be a scam. i wrote to them and they basically replied asking for a like and after that never replied
And the guy who posted that half-episode on Youtube recently replied in a comment that he recorded it BY PURE CHANCE, so he almost surely doesn't have the rest of it.
At this point, I give up for now. I don't know what else to do. It almost feels like a cosmic conspiracy to make this never get out of oblivion lol

So, there are good news and bad news.DrProton wrote: March 6th, 2025, 8:53 pm Well, it's been a month and unfortunately nothing changed. A guy on Reddit told me he had an Italian VHS of an episode but never contacted me back. All hopes of finding even a single clip aside from the Italian theme song and that half-episode posted years ago are still virtually nil, and I guess that ghostz' attempt at contacting that Facebook page was a dead letter.
This shit is ridiculous. Ffs, that Cliffhanger cartoon doesn't even have a WIKIPEDIA PAGE and yet it can be found easily, even if only in Basque and Arabic. This thing had a whole line of merchandise based on it and yet on the Internet it looks like it never existed. How is this shit possible?
Good news: the guy managed to digitalize that Italian VHS and posted it on YouTube
Bad news: it's the exact same episode that was already online trimmed down to 10m as in a "sort of preview".
I swear to Christ, this thing's cursed.
Re: 7th Carnaby street
Unfortunately not. And from what I can gather from the added footage, there's no DiD in that episode.
We are trying to get the rest of the series out there, but it feels like it's an uphill battle. I feel like the only hope would be for home recordings of some foreign dub to magically pop out, because I heavily doubt this has gotten any home-video release.
Re: 7th Carnaby street
It definitely has not. At least not at any wide market if it ever has. The only chance it if someone has, or finds the rights to the reels and digitizes those at some point. But since the owning website doesn't even answer questions on their web form it's hard to say if anyone cares they have the rights to this thing.DrProton wrote: May 10th, 2025, 3:07 pm Unfortunately not. I also tried to contact one of the animators who worked on the series, but got zero answers back.
Re: 7th Carnaby street
So, there are some good news and VERY bad news.
First of all, I managed to get almost the entire series from a Spanish collector, dubbed in European Spanish and in a not-very-high VHS home recording quality. I say "almost" because episodes 6-10 and 12 are completely missing and some episodes (14, 15, 23, 24) have been recorded only partially.
And here's the bad news... I checked the whole thing multiple times from head to toe and not only there is almost Z-E-R-O DiD (only a woman handcuffed in front at the end of an episode) other than those two scenes, but the episodes I have don't have the two tape gag scenes either.
I fear that those two scenes are either somewhere in the completely missing episodes or the missing footage of the partially recorded episodes. Either way this has been one of the biggest DiD letdowns of my fucking life
EDIT: Nevermind, the handcuffed "woman" is actually a very feminine guy and a villainess gets her hands tied behind her (not very long) in episode 20
EDIT 2: J.D. gets handcuffed very briefly in the last episode... then she gets thrown in a cell without cuffs. Sigh.

Re: 7th Carnaby street
damn, sorry to hear that. thanks for the big effort to at least track down most of the eps

Re: 7th Carnaby street
No problem ^^ This series actually looks rather fun even though it's kind of the same old formulaic villain-does-villain-things-spy-defeats-villain stuff, I plan to watch it in full one day. J.D. is actually a rather kickass character in the good way, and it's understandable that she almost always manages to save her ass just before she gets captured properly.ghostz wrote: July 15th, 2025, 5:33 am damn, sorry to hear that. thanks for the big effort to at least track down most of the eps
DiD-wise, I expected that even if I didn't get the two tape gags I could at least find something else of note, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. That villainess scene would actually be quite ok even considering its short length but the video quality kinda kills the enjoyment, the other one is just infuriating because they could have kept J.D. cuffed in her cell. Oh well.
The two tape gags scenes that guy talked about years ago are, at this point, 100% in the missing footage. The helicopter one I'm sure it's in episode 7, the dog one I'm not really sure of anything.
Anyway, we are 85% there, we just need to find the missing 15%.
Re: 7th Carnaby street
Well, it has been one year and nothing new surfaced. Does anybody have an idea on where to look?
Re: 7th Carnaby street
I tried using chatgtp for a change and guess what. The ai refered to this thread, telling me a complete recording of all episodes seems impossible to find.DrProton wrote: September 17th, 2026, 4:40 pm Well, it has been one year and nothing new surfaced. Does anybody have an idea on where to look?
So, unless someone randomly pops up posting it, we have no chance I guess.
