Percy Jackson Books DID and GID

Post by AnonymousDIDLover »

Well, guess I'll start the long list of book DID's and GID's I have with one of my favourite series. The Percy Jackson series has LOADS of really good DID's and GID's throughout the book. Guess I'll just get right to it. Also BQ = Book Quote

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief:

Unfortunately no DID's or GID's in the first book. There is a hopeful bit where Percy and Annabeth get attacked by mechanical spiders but they manage to escape.

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters: DID AND GID

This is where the DID and GID starts! First of all Annabeth tells Percy about her, Luke, Thalia and Grover being chased by monsters on their way to camp. She also mentions how Luke, Thalia and Grover are tied up and gagged by a cyclops! BQ-"And there were Thalia and Luke and Grover, tied up and gagged, hanging from the ceiling like smoked hams."

Second of all, not soon after, Annabeth is tied to the mast of the ship to stop her dying in the sea by being drawn towards the siren's singing. BQ = "As soon as the rocky coastline of the island came into view, I ordered one of the ropes to wrap around Annabeth’s waist, tying her to the foremast."

Lastly, Clarisse, a daughter of Ares is tied up by the king of the Cyclops' Polyphemus. BQ = "Clarisse was tied up, hanging upside down over a pot of boiling water."

Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse: DID

This is where it get's really good! Percy's girlfriend Annabeth is kidnapped by Luke and Atlas and guess what? She get's tied up and gagged! BQ-"Annabeth stood at Luke's side. She had her hands cuffed behind her back, a gag in her mouth, and Luke was holding the point of his sword to her throat." No more GID or DID unfortunately but plenty more to come!

Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth: DID AND GID

Annabeth, Grover, Nico and Tyson(Percy's cyclops half-brother) get hogtied and gagged by Eurytion. BQ="And then I saw my friends: Tyson, Grover, Annabeth, and Nico all tossed in a corner, tied up like rodeo animals, with their ankles and wrists roped together and their mouths gagged." Extra BQ-"He tipped over the barbecue, and coals spilled everywhere. One landed next to Annabeth’s face, and
she let out a muffled scream. Tyson strained against his bonds, but even his strength wasn’t enough to break them."

Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian:

Literally NO DID or GID here sadly.

Heroes of Olympus, The Lost Hero: DID AND GID

Get's even better here as it introduces one of my favourite damsels: Piper. As a daughter of Aphrodite she has charmspeak which allows her to heavily persuade people to do anything e.g. help her, give her cake, whatever. As you can guess she needs her mouth to do this and she gets gagged when she is captured in almost EVERY book because of this. Anyway, the DID and GID. Piper gets chained from the ceiling and gagged by cyclops' as is Jason but not gagged because he is unconscious and does not have charm speak.

BQ="The two smaller things dangling from crane arms weren’t engines. They were Jason and Piper. Both hung upside down, tied by their ankles and cocooned with chains up to their necks. Piper was flailing around, trying to free herself. Her mouth was gagged, but at least she was alive. Jason didn’t look so good. He hung limply, his eyes rolled up in his head." No more DID or GID in this book.

Heroes of Olympus, Son of Neptune:

No DID or GID but it only gets better from here.

Heroes of Olympus, The Mark of Athena: DID AND GID

Guess who get's bound and gagged again!? An old Greek pirate-dolphin crew(long story) led by Chrysaor attack the Argo II(the ship the main characters travel around in) and captures all of the crew(Piper, Jason, Annabeth, Percy, Leo, Hazel and Coach Hedge) excluding Frank.

BQ1-"Leo was dragged across the deck, half-conscious and groaning, and dumped on a pile of ropes. Below, the sounds of fighting tapered off. Either the others had been subdued or…or Percy refused to think about it."

BQ2-"“I’m nobody’s goat meat!” Hedge protested.

“Gag him as well,” Chrysaor decided.

“Why you gilded little—” Hedge’s insult was cut short when the dolphin put a greasy wad of canvas in his mouth. Soon the coach was trussed like a rodeo calf and dumped with the other loot—crates of food, extra weapons, even the magical ice chest from the mess hall."

BQ3-"Jason was unconscious. Judging from the new bruises on his face, he’d tried to fight. Hazel and Piper were bound hand and foot. Piper had a gag in her mouth, so apparently the dolphins had discovered she could charmspeak. Frank was the only one missing, though two of the dolphins had bee stings covering their faces." No more DID or GID here but the next book has my favourite DID!

Heroes of Olympus, The House of Hades: DID AND GID

Bet you'll be suprised by which character is in one of my favourite DID's!(it's obviously Piper). The two Kekropes Dwarves attack the ship and mummify both Piper and Coach Hedge in duct tape! BQ-"The other walls flickered, showing scenes from above deck. Piper
stood at the helm, but something was wrong. From the shoulders
down she was wrapped in duct tape, her mouth gagged and her legs
bound to the control console.

At the mainmast, Coach Hedge was similarly bound and gagged,
while a bizarre-looking creaturea sort of gnome/chimpanzee combo
with poor fashion sensedanced around him, doing the coachs hair
in tiny pigtails with pink rubber bands."

Extra BQ-"Piper! Jason staggered to the helm and carefully pulled the gag
out of her mouth.

Dont waste your time on me! she said. Go after them!

At the mast, Coach Hedge mumbled, HHHmmmmm-hmmm!" Phew, only 2 more books to go.

Heroes of Olympus, The Blood of Olympus: DID

A great DID scene in this one however for once it's not Piper! The crew subdue the Godess of Victory, Nike, in a net and gag her with a sock and duct tape.
BQ1-"FOOM! Metal filaments shot upward, wrapping Nike in a bronze net. She wailed, falling sideways as the net constricted, forcing her two forms – Greek and Roman – into a quivering, out-of-focus whole."

BQ2-"Frank let go of the goddess. He took off one of his shoes, peeled off his sock and stuffed it in the goddess’s mouth.

‘Dude,’ Percy said, ‘that is disgusting.’

‘Mpppphhh!’ Nike complained. ‘Mppppphhh!’

‘Leo,’ Frank said grimly, ‘you got duct tape?’

‘Never leave home without it.’ He fished a roll from his tool belt, and in no time Frank had wrapped it around Nike’s head, securing the gag in her mouth.

‘Well, it’s not a laurel wreath,’ Frank said, ‘but it’s a new kind of victory circle: the gag of duct tape.’"

Now I'm debating whether Rick is one of us.

Finally The Trials of Apollo, The Hidden Oracle: DID AND GID

A bunch of campers(male and female) + a geyser god called Paulie get bound to poles in smelly bandages(not gagged sadly) unconscious by Nero. BQ="The upper half of each post was wrapped in thick lumpy wads of white cloth, and sticking from the top of each cocoon was something that looked like a human head.

My stomach somersaulted. They were human heads. Arrayed in front of us were the missing demigods, all tightly bound. I watched, petrified, until I discerned the slightest expansions and contractions in the wrappings around their chests. They were still breathing. Unconscious, not dead. Thank the gods.

On the left were three teenagers I didn’t know, though I assumed they must be Cecil, Ellis, and Miranda. On the right side was an emaciated man with gray skin and white hair—no doubt the geyser god Paulie. Next to him hung my children…Austin and Kayla."

Phew, that took a while to write so I hope it was worth it and you all enjoy it! :)

Nice! That's quite the collection! Good job finding and writing them all down.

I got three more for you.

You forgot a DID and a GID from Battle of the labyrint. At one point Percy has to fight in an arena while Annabeth is captured. To prevent Annabeth from giving away the enemy weakness she is hand gagged for a while.
Later in the same book Nico is chained before the group with his arms shackled behind him.

In the the crown of ptolemy Annabeth gets wrapped up in ropes from toes up to over her mouth by an evil sorceror.

Thanks! I forgot about the 2 other BOTL ones but I've never heard of this Crown of Ptolemy one! Thanks for telling me about it, I'll have to see if I can get the book.
