New Adventures of Jackie Chan J-Team

Post by Nephenthal »

The first season just finished in China and it's coming out in dub form in the USA soon. The best part, he has a really cute new female sidekick named Shamal. The second season of the series is about to kick off in China.

This should be checked for possible DID when it comes out.

So, basically, Jackie Chan ripped off Dream Defenders. Way to go, Jackie!

Yup and there's another Chinese anime that did the same thing LOL. I forgot the name of it, but it has a brunette in it.

Even more ironic is there's a Chinese anime that deliberately ripped off Power Rangers. You could basically say it's the anime version of Power Rangers, but they copied Power Rangers badly. It even feels like Power Rangers. All kinds of ripoffs out there. There's even ripoffs of Winx and Jimmy Neutron. Chinese are doing what they do best. Ripping off of all other people's quality products.

Nephental I live in China and my wife is Chinese, to generalize like that is just plain wrong. The Chinese have a lot of great shows of their own you probably have never heard of! To say they rip everything off is just blantanly wrong.

The Japanese do it too and if I offended you I'm sorry. It was probably a bad choice of words to say they ripoff everything, but a lot of their shows I've seen are clones of other shows I know from the past. No, they don't ripoff everything and also aren't the only ones that do it either. The Japanese people copy other Japanese people's anime so it isn't just China that does it. But I've been seeing a lot of clones of other shows from China.

A lot of people have been copying Gundam, Cutie Honey and Astro Boy are just a few to name. Most of them are Japanese clones of Gundam.

I have found a large quantity of Asian anime. Some are really good while others are so-so to really bad.

And if it makes you feel any better, there are some clones that the Chinese have done in anime that I like better than the originals. I like the Bakugan clone they have better than Bakugan despite the fact Alice and Runo are the cutest things to happen in fad anime since Mimi and Sayuki from Duel Masters. There are great anime from the Chinese that aren't clones like Twelve Stars, Flower Elf and Wood Mighty Baby are just a few I can name right now. They do a lot of racecar fad anime, I've noticed that. Which was inspired by Yankuro Dash! The second season of Mojo Spy was fantastic too. Way better than the first season. But you cannot avoid the truth that some of what they have are clones. This is commonplace in the anime community though. Some of the 80-90's Chinese anime are great too. I certainly prefer the clones over shows like Rainbow Sea and third season of Swirl Fighters. Only the Rainbow Sea movie was great despite the fact it had no DID.

But Jackie Chan has become very unoriginal after Jackie Chan Adventures with copying other people's ideas where laura silverman makes a very valid point that cannot be ignored. I usually don't have a problem with this unless it feels exactly like the show you're trying to copy.

And a lot of my focus for looking for DID is in other Asian anime that come from South Korea, China, ect.

I think as long as there is DID in media shows. I am happy with them. :)

Nephenthal, as far as I'm concerned, you have nothing to apologize for. The Chinese government, through their laughably weak intellectual property laws, has virtually institutionalized the practice of copyright infringement and China, by far, is the worst violator in this regard. It's not meant as a swipe against the Chinese people or culture because, I'm sure if our copyright laws were as lax, companies in the U.S. would be ripping off other people's stuff left and right. But because of the Chinese government's de facto encouragement, Chinese companies have become masters at this. Sorry, I don't mean to start discord on the site but it had to be said. I've said my piece and won't take it any further.
