Now were getting to the good treatments.
in this kids movie a wannable sheriff gets involved into a more hidden agenda. she and her native american friend gets tied up, and later on she finds her mother tied to a chair and OTM gagged, she untie the gag and learn the person she trust is part of the bad guys, those guys than bound all 3 girls(main girl, mother and female friend i mention early) to chairs and then each gets tape gagged. some funny gagged dialog and they gets free
This belongs in the DiD Hall of Fame. It's one of the best, if not the best DiD scene of the 2010s. There's just so much to like about it. The first scene with the mom by itself was decent, she has kind of a cute Leslie Hope in 24 or Jamie Lee Curtis in the first Freaky Friday movie look to her that I like. And obviously the first scene with the girl and her friend where the friend uses a knife to free them was pretty nice. But that final DiD scene with all three of them... absolute perfection. The girl and her mom still arguing while gagged, the friend playing gagged peacemaker... the mood of the scene, there's a serious enough peril to add some drama but nothing too over the top that would make things too scary... and the rescue by the friend's grandfather with a funny one-liner? These are the kinds of DiD scenes they don't make anymore. These are honestly the kinds of DiD scenes they didn't hardly ever make even back in the day. This is the kind of scene that if I'd seen it on Nickelodeon or something back in the 1990s I'd have worn out my VCR rewinding. This is the kind of scene that I've been wanting from those godawful Hallmark mystery movies for the last 20 years, can you imagine a scene like this with Lacey Chabert, Danica McKellar, and Taylor Cole all mmphing at each other back and forth for a full minute before some no-name D-list rando shows up to save them with a cheesy line about how his sister's slumber parties were never this exciting (prompting an eye roll by the gagged ladies before he comes over to free them)? This scene captures the essence of what DiD is all about, and outside of intense horror/crime type stuff there really hasn't been a scene as good as this one since it originally came out. In terms of good old-fashioned, lighthearted, FUN DiD I don't know if any other scene in any 21st century movie can match it.
Honestly the movie itself isn't even that bad on its own for what it is. It's too bad these characters didn't continue with something like a Prime streaming show, the friendship between the girls is really fun and I'd have loved to see more of them as a mystery solving duo. You don't see a lot of Native American characters in anything these days outside of shows like Reservation Dogs, and the friend in this movie was a really fun character.
That sounds really cool! It's awesome that you liked the scenes so much. I have in fact seen the scenes from this movie before, and I think they're decent scenes but ones I would have liked more if I'd seen them as a kid.
28:00 the tied to tree at night scene
46:04 the mom tied to the chair and gagged scene
46:20 the two girls and mom tied to chairs and eventually gagged scene
The scene I wish I could have watched as a kid, that I know would have blown me away, is My Daughter's Ransom (which can be found in this forum at https://westerncivilization.trifecta3.n ... hp?t=11329). God damn, is that one amazing.

Seeing that again I forgot that Angie actually warmed up to the bully kid (the one who taped her mouth and was calling her Pocahontas the whole movie) a little at the end. That's another thing that would've been interesting to see develop in a full series. Ah well.
