DeviantArt introduced file downloading limits

I don't know if anyone still uses DeviantArt, but they made a controversial change where users without Core are limited to 10 per week instead of unlimited like it was previously. This is the status update: https://www.deviantart.com/team/status- ... 1307747979

A lot of people aren't happy for this change and see it as a cash grab to get people to buy Core+ where the limit is increased to 150 per week.

I have to admit DeviantArt has been getting worse especially post-Eclipse. The controversial AI generated images and DeviantArt banning several artists didn't help.

Does this involve only the official "Download" button or I can still right-click and click" on the "Save image" button and completely ignore this BS?

easiest workaround is just to add to whatever browser you are using and extension that uses image download. then all the pics from deviantart can be downloaded

It won't block 'save as' or getting an image from page info(Nothing can unless they break up the image and use encryption like Bookwalker or sites like it). It WILL block you from getting the full resolution of many images which are not available without the download button.

It only affects the download button. You can still right click (or hold tap) and use Save image although the size/quality will depend on the preview resolution. The 10/150 image download limit doesn't apply to Sta.sh images or your own deviations.

I thought it was ludicrous that in the link given above DA claimed that 95% of their users download less than 40 files a month. What that says to me is that 95% of DA accounts are abandoned.
