Here's the movie that Lost in the Woods is a ripoff of. 13 years prior (1996 instead of 2009), same basic ideas: girl is kidnapped, boy goes to rescue her, has some goofy interactions with the kidnappers, comes close to rescuing the girl but must leave, and leaves her with a walkie-talkie that he uses to talk with her... it's the same thing.

Character age difference in this movie - boy is 10 and girl is 15 (actress age is totally unknown, and I've seen some speculation she might have been ~23, especially since she played a teenager in a 1991 episode of Saved by the Bell, which is unlikely if she were actually the age of her character in this 1996 movie).

But same ideas. It even has slapstick comedy involving incompetent cops who can't get basic technology to work right and electrocute themselves. Yes, really. Same type of "Home Alone" type antics, with the boy setting up traps.. A scene where one of the bad guys is on the toilet while the boy is performing his attack. Lost in the Woods is such a ridiculous ripoff of this it's not even funny. They're seriously the same frigging movie.
