Yoko Tsuno: The Prey and the Ghost

Post by Agemochi »

Scene from Belgian comic series about a Japanese engineer who goes on strange adventures. In this issue, the titular and leading character, Yoko Tsuno is caught snooping around the castle by the main villain and is bound and gagged for her trouble. Read this issue a long time and recently found a copy of this issue which I just purchased.

And I just realized there was actually some plans for a Yoko Tsuno anime but only the concepts are drawn.

Actually there were not, those are fan arts. There were never any kind of serious plans to make an anime or manga out of Yoko Tsuno

The last page does say it was pitched, along with an adaptation of a Moomin book and Fantasy Maze by Hiroshi Masumura. But it's likely it never got past the initial design and pitch to be considered a full attempt at creating it.

Then it must be something "internal". Roger Leloup, the author, told numerous time he was never contacted for any kind of animation project, and would have anyway flatly rejected it because he was not that much enamoured with the prospect.
