Re: Robin The Boy Wonder: RIP...again...
The current DC Comics is dead to me. I have my reprints and my memories.
Catwoman: Think you can handle me?
Batman: I've got handcuffs.
Catwoman: Ooh.

I liked the story okay; it's the aftermath that will make me see if this was a good idea or not. Heard Batman and Robin #18 will just be an all silent issue which is good.

You got to keep in mind this wasn't an editorial decision; Morrison stated up front that he had planned to kill Damian off well before the New 52 even came to play. This kid, no matter if people liked him or not, was going to die eventually.Sailornapper wrote:RiP Damian Wayne (hey you should know already) Ugh I'll say it again nu52 = fufans. Yeah Morrison had this planned for a while. It's funny because it's kinda clear he tried to make Damien hated by fans with his snarky attitude but it was done so beautifully fans really stood behind the smug bastard. He's Batman's kid. Is anyone really gonna argue that he's great at everything he does? XD Well getting killed off in a story might actually be better than Steph and Cassie's fate of being in comic limbo forever...
Sadly thanks to the New52 timeline this (and like many other Batman stories recently) lacks a lot of punch. The history was erased and condensed. Given this timeline Damien would have been conceived well before Bruce was ever Batman. Or has that timeline been revised as well along with TIm Drake flip flopping from being a real Robin? I don't even know. For me at least it just makes all the punches feel weak. Maybe when everything has rebuilt a history I'll start to care about a lot DC things but for now I'm just gonna stick with Wonder Woman. THAT'S how you do a revamp.

and you wonder why i am so critical of media. you or i could ahve been asked about the idea of a dc reboot, and we would both likely shake our heads and say, No, this is madness, and it is definitely not Sparta. yet the people who have been working on thsi stuff for years, some of them decades, just went and let it happen. and these were the same people who thought it was also good idea to create a seris where a bunch of people died, a little girl included, driving her super hero father to madness and mutilation, and had a villain whose only real power was the ability to read the script for the comic series he was in.
technically its not even a reboot, but a total Retcon palooza. they jsut changed Everyrthing rather than actualyl starting fomr the beginning. shakes head.
the wonderwoman series is pretty good though, i admit. read a few issues. then again i am under the constant fear of editorial mandates. cause once an editor sets a mandate, it must be done, no matter how batshit it is. far as i know the evils of the editors may convicne them that it is a good idea for Darkseid to suddenly appear and rape wonderwoman or something horrible like that. that shit can happen without warning and without anything the writers could do about it. one moment they are planning the future battles for wonderwoman, and next thing they know the get a memo saying that wonder woman has to get raped and knocked up by Darkseid.
i bring that up because this robin death here. likely editorial mandate. don't quote me on that one though, it jsut has the stench of the same force that made spiderman make a deal with a devil and that killed Red Arrows daughter for no god damn reason, espeically since Red Arrow was NOT the focus of the damn event to begin with.

basically the same as Alfred getting snuffed during an event involving god damn Wonderwoman.
