Using ChatGPT for book recommendations

[Big-City]

I came up with an idea - ask ChatGPT for book recommendations, by starting out saying that I always liked adventurous stories in which characters got tied up since I was a kid, then asking for books that have such. I also later specified I wanted more modern books, including ones with illustrations.

Here are some that it suggested (I have not bought any):

The Jolly Regina (The Unintentional Adventures of the Bland Sisters Book 1) - illustrated
The Unstoppable Olivia (Olivia Twist)
The Penderwicks in Spring
Gallagher Girls series
The Wolves of Willoughby Chase
City Spies
The Princess in Black - illustrated
Ivy + Bean series - illustrated

• note: Ivy + Bean Bound to be Bad has an illustration on the cover of them tied to a tree!

• also has its own TV show, but I can't guarantee that would have anything in it

The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die (serious thriller)
Friday Barnes series - illustrated

And now a warning: ChatGPT famously gets things wrong, a lot.

I had to manually search all these books to verify that the ones it claimed are illustrated are in fact illustrated (a lot aren't), and I can't guarantee that someone actually will get tied up in these, though I specifically requested that and it claims it happens. It also says questionable things like saying that "Regina gets tied up" in The Jolly Regina, even though Regina is the name of a pirate ship, not a person!!

So, just something to keep in mind. Try it yourself and see if you can find anything good!
